Crazy Pastors, Cute Kids and an awesome week of outreach!

So our week started off Sunday with a sunrise time of intercession for the upcoming week in Labasa and Savusavu. It was a beautiful morning and time with God. We were able to have some time with God before going to church. We went to a Hindi speaking church and were able to teach the Sunday school for the kids, youth and adults. Matt preached for the main service and it was just an awesome time of fellowship.

After church, Pastor took us on an adventure to the airport to pick up one of his "senior pastor" friends and low and behold it was the real Cheyne!!! We were so excited to see him and didn't believe at first that it was really him lol.
That evening we went to a church that was really Pentecostal and Cheyne preached an awesome sermon.  It was soo nice to actually listen to a sermon and not preach :).

Matt attempting to stir the batter lol
We started off Monday morning going door to door evangelizing to the people in the neighborhood and it was a great time getting to know the people and pray for them. My group really enjoyed one house in particular. We got some words of knowledge for them and felt God fill us with love for them. We invited them to come hang with us that night and were able to play games etc.

Tuesday was an insane day! We thought we were supposed to go to the prison and after an hour and a a half of waiting for "Fiji Time", we finally got a call telling us it was cancelled. Well we prayed and God directed us to go to the hospital....
We got to the hospital and split off boys and girls and prayed for anyone who would let us and we saw soo many healings. The whole hospital waiting area was so full that it was controlled chaos at best. The girls got kicked out and so we just prayed outside while the boys went room to room in the mens ward to evangelize and pray for healing.

Later that day, we decided to bake for the widows and take them cupcakes!! It was soo much fun visiting them and sharing the gospel with them.:)
Wednesday began a new day for us and we were so excited to go to the Christian Fellowship at the University. Nate and Emily shared with the students and then afterwards we prayed about where to go next.
Well Emily got a picture of the waiting room at the hospital being empty and then Matt got one of the nursing home. So one group went to the hospital and another went to the nursing home. My group walked into the hospital and there was literally no one there in the waiting room... The day before it was overly packed and flowing out of the building. God healed 5 guys with hurt arms and prayed for a few others. The other group went to the nursing home and prayed and sang for them.

One of the little girls we prayed for at the hospital. She broke her collar bone.

Later that night, we went to a house church and Ashleigh and Matt both preached awesome messages. We heard some amazing Hindi worship and then had delicious Indian sweets... that aren't always sweet lol.
First night in Savusavu!!
Thursday morning we prayed over our trip and got encouraging words for each other. Our bus left at 4:20pm (Fiji Time) and we finally got to Savusavu  around 7pm. When we got to Pastor Mele's house we were welcomed the Fijian way with lots of food:)
Our "Shortcut" through the bush!!
The following morning we rose to the sound of roosters(plural) and got ready for the day. We headed up to Lomani Au Childrens home and we took a short cut through the bush... Note to self: Always say no when a Fijian has a shortcut. :)
The real Cheyne and our power team of awesome leaders!!!

The view from Lomani Au!! So flash(Kiwi translation- It was really nice)
Emily was really painting.. I swear!!:)
After we held children and played worship, we headed to a new church to paint some walls and basically everything that wasn't the floor. We got to spend time together and with the elders and youth of the church. It was quite a smelly day for all of us
Ashleigh and her adopted child :)

everyone hard at work!!

Coconut art.. It could be big:)

We are always getting offered coconuts... We don't say no to the goodness:) John climbs the trees and we drink the coconuts

Selfie time with Cheyne hehe

Sooo not only does she drink them but she climbs... kinda:)

After our fun time of painting, we went back to relax and play music... well we kind of attracted a crowd and ended up teaching and learning songs from this awesome choir of children.
That night we went to speak to the youth and it was sooo amazing!! Leah told her testimony/preached for about an hour and it was totally Spirit led. God spoke to so many hearts and we were so happy to be apart of that and help the church connect with the youth.

Leah preaching to the youth!! Holy Spirit totally wrecked the night in an awesome way lol
A little down time in the ocean..

Saturday afternoon we led a Sunday school for 2 hours and we got to play with the kids and teach them about Jesus and how he speaks to all of us. Matt, Emily and John taught and Leah led games. Afterwards, we were able to hang and play music and volleyball with them. It was such fun especially when it rained:)
Emily teaching and being awesome!!

Acting out the story of Zaccheus in groups with the kids!:)

Fun times making faces with Emily.. apparently angry face time lol

loving on kids is oohh sooo fun!!:)

On Sunday, we attended a Methodist church at 7am for the communion service. It was definitely different than home but we enjoyed it all the same. At 10 am, we led a worship service and had an amazing time with the ones that came. After all the goodbyes, we headed back to the house to have lunch and pack. We headed back to Labasa on a bus that was barely together but we made it back at 5pm and just rested and relaxed. Another fun day of Outreach... One more week until we are New Zealand bound:)

Labasa Lighthouse!!

The view from the base we are staying at!!!

We are offically in Labasa Fiji!!! Our journey from Latouka took 16 hours. We left Friday night at 10:30 by bus and did not get to the port until 7am... it was a long night lol. We got onto the ferry at 7am and Emily, Ashleigh and Leah took seasick meds to help with the sickness.. Needless to say we were quite affected and apparently "hilarious" according to Matt. We departed the ferry at 11am and took another 4 hours to get to Labasa. When we arrived finally, we were pretty exhausted but super excited to see our new home for the next three weeks. The next part of our adventure begins!!!
The church building that we preached at for a womens group
We rested on Sunday to prepare for our action packed week that was planned for us! On Monday, we were able to get a crash course in the Indian culture in Fiji from Pastor Shalen and his lovely family. They fed us Indian sweets and we then headed out to go door to door to evangelize to the Muslim neighbors. We went to one house and prayed over an elderly Muslim lady and her knee was healed!! It was definitely an exciting day for us:)
Lunch after the womens group... So yummy!!
Tuesday started out with an awesome time of worship and devos and it just set us into the right attitude for the day! We arrived at the church and preached for a womens group and it was totally awesome:). The worship we had with them was so Spirit led and we really enjoyed this time of fellowship. After the preaching, we were able to eat and just hang out with them. Afterward, we went door to door and evangelized to the people in the area. The translators were so awesome because although the Fijians speak alot of English, the Indians sometimes do not. Especially the older ones.
Emily preaching the word at a house church!
We stayed the whole day Tuesday at the church and prepared to preach again that night at a house church in a village near by. When the service ended, people came for healing and an elderly ladies knees were healed!!! They fed us a bunch of yummy Indian sweets and Chai and we finally got home at 11:30. It was a long day but God totally blessed it:)
Matt sitting uncomfortably while taking in the message... sitting Fijian style

Another exciting time of planning!!

Wednesday we were supposed to go door to door but God told us to stay and rest so we prayed and talked to God for a few hours:) At 1pm, we went to the Christian Fellowship at the university and God totally spoke to the students through our testimonies! That night we went to a different house church and the owner of the house was healed in her shoulders and it was a great night of fellowship.
It was pouring that day and we were desperate... Malaysian poncho time!!

Base staff and the kids

indian sweets that we were given... they are constantly feeding us lol

Thursday was an amazing day!!! Our plans got delayed and so we prayed and asked God what we should do... Boy did we get an answer lol. We all got that we should go and worship in the arcade in town and pray for people. Well we found a prime spot in the arcade and sang as loud as we could. The acoustics in the walk way were amazing and it amplified our worship and drew people to us so we could pray for them. God is so amazing because of what he stirred in hearts that day. One Hindu shop owner accepted Christ and many others we prayed for.

Matt praying in the arcade!!!
After we left the arcade, we went house to house and prayed for different families in the area. My (Leah) group was able to go to a Hindu household and we prayed for a man who struggled with depression. He didn't accept Christ but a seed was planted.:)
That night we went to yet again a different house church and God worked so mightily through the worship and speaking!! Worship lasted an hour and a half and tons of prayer and healings happened in the church!! We love when God totally wrecks a service we planned and takes it over. Matt and John brought the truth and we didn't end up getting home until 11:30pm. We are loving outreach!!
The lady that got healed. This was before when she could barely walk!!!
Friday was finally here and we were so excited to go to our first school in Labasa. Well when we got to the school, we discovered that it was a half day and school was cancelled lol. Well we decided to go pray for different people in the community and we are so glad we did!! A Christian lady received healing instantly in her leg!!! We headed back to one of the churches and just hung out for a while. John climbed a coconut tree for us and brought back lots of coconuts!!( He got 3 and the  coconut pole got the rest haha). We were able to enjoy yummy coconut water. We also prayed for a deaf/mute man who was in a tractor accident a while ago. He still had injuries from it but God was awesome enough to heal him!!! He was born deaf and mute but He was able to hear us singing and playing guitar. Although he was still deaf/mute, we believe that God will definitely heal him!! That night we spent the night in the village and it was such a blessing:)

We enjoyed an awesome day off today and until next week keep cool and don't let the bed bugs bite.... Because we have discovered that they really do~!!!
