Labasa Lighthouse!!

The view from the base we are staying at!!!

We are offically in Labasa Fiji!!! Our journey from Latouka took 16 hours. We left Friday night at 10:30 by bus and did not get to the port until 7am... it was a long night lol. We got onto the ferry at 7am and Emily, Ashleigh and Leah took seasick meds to help with the sickness.. Needless to say we were quite affected and apparently "hilarious" according to Matt. We departed the ferry at 11am and took another 4 hours to get to Labasa. When we arrived finally, we were pretty exhausted but super excited to see our new home for the next three weeks. The next part of our adventure begins!!!
The church building that we preached at for a womens group
We rested on Sunday to prepare for our action packed week that was planned for us! On Monday, we were able to get a crash course in the Indian culture in Fiji from Pastor Shalen and his lovely family. They fed us Indian sweets and we then headed out to go door to door to evangelize to the Muslim neighbors. We went to one house and prayed over an elderly Muslim lady and her knee was healed!! It was definitely an exciting day for us:)
Lunch after the womens group... So yummy!!
Tuesday started out with an awesome time of worship and devos and it just set us into the right attitude for the day! We arrived at the church and preached for a womens group and it was totally awesome:). The worship we had with them was so Spirit led and we really enjoyed this time of fellowship. After the preaching, we were able to eat and just hang out with them. Afterward, we went door to door and evangelized to the people in the area. The translators were so awesome because although the Fijians speak alot of English, the Indians sometimes do not. Especially the older ones.
Emily preaching the word at a house church!
We stayed the whole day Tuesday at the church and prepared to preach again that night at a house church in a village near by. When the service ended, people came for healing and an elderly ladies knees were healed!!! They fed us a bunch of yummy Indian sweets and Chai and we finally got home at 11:30. It was a long day but God totally blessed it:)
Matt sitting uncomfortably while taking in the message... sitting Fijian style

Another exciting time of planning!!

Wednesday we were supposed to go door to door but God told us to stay and rest so we prayed and talked to God for a few hours:) At 1pm, we went to the Christian Fellowship at the university and God totally spoke to the students through our testimonies! That night we went to a different house church and the owner of the house was healed in her shoulders and it was a great night of fellowship.
It was pouring that day and we were desperate... Malaysian poncho time!!

Base staff and the kids

indian sweets that we were given... they are constantly feeding us lol

Thursday was an amazing day!!! Our plans got delayed and so we prayed and asked God what we should do... Boy did we get an answer lol. We all got that we should go and worship in the arcade in town and pray for people. Well we found a prime spot in the arcade and sang as loud as we could. The acoustics in the walk way were amazing and it amplified our worship and drew people to us so we could pray for them. God is so amazing because of what he stirred in hearts that day. One Hindu shop owner accepted Christ and many others we prayed for.

Matt praying in the arcade!!!
After we left the arcade, we went house to house and prayed for different families in the area. My (Leah) group was able to go to a Hindu household and we prayed for a man who struggled with depression. He didn't accept Christ but a seed was planted.:)
That night we went to yet again a different house church and God worked so mightily through the worship and speaking!! Worship lasted an hour and a half and tons of prayer and healings happened in the church!! We love when God totally wrecks a service we planned and takes it over. Matt and John brought the truth and we didn't end up getting home until 11:30pm. We are loving outreach!!
The lady that got healed. This was before when she could barely walk!!!
Friday was finally here and we were so excited to go to our first school in Labasa. Well when we got to the school, we discovered that it was a half day and school was cancelled lol. Well we decided to go pray for different people in the community and we are so glad we did!! A Christian lady received healing instantly in her leg!!! We headed back to one of the churches and just hung out for a while. John climbed a coconut tree for us and brought back lots of coconuts!!( He got 3 and the  coconut pole got the rest haha). We were able to enjoy yummy coconut water. We also prayed for a deaf/mute man who was in a tractor accident a while ago. He still had injuries from it but God was awesome enough to heal him!!! He was born deaf and mute but He was able to hear us singing and playing guitar. Although he was still deaf/mute, we believe that God will definitely heal him!! That night we spent the night in the village and it was such a blessing:)

We enjoyed an awesome day off today and until next week keep cool and don't let the bed bugs bite.... Because we have discovered that they really do~!!!
